1. How long have you been with Groundwork Plus?
3 months shy of 10 years! I did have a year off to have my second child.
I had been doing accounts/ admin work for a long time but I was particularly attracted to this job because I have a degree in Australian Env. Studies and was therefore interested in what Groundwork Plus did.
2. What is your role at Groundwork Plus, and what does it entail?
My role is Accounts Administrator. The main part of my role involves setting up new projects, preparing client invoices and other accounts receivable tasks.
3. What are your areas of particular interest or your proudest accomplishment?
In 2007, my husband and I travelled around Australia for a year. This opened my eyes to what an amazing country we live in. I thought SEQ beaches were the best in Australia – I was wrong!
A highlight was travelling to Arnhem Land and spending a few nights in Maningrida.
It was amazing to watch the women create some awesome artwork.
We got the chance to go fishing in one of the rivers and I was lucky enough to catch a barramundi which made for a delicious dinner, along with mud crab. (To this day my husband has still not caught a barra and he’s pretty cut about that!)
4. What is your favourite way to spend a weekend?
Being in the outdoors with my husband and two children, 10 & 7.
