Tegan Smith

Director and Principal – Planning and Environment

Tegan is well known for her passion for the extractive industry and is especially interested in assisting clients to obtain an understanding of Queensland planning and environmental legislation and process to achieve practical ‘on the ground’ solutions to complex planning issues.
Tegan has assisted Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia (CCAA), the peak industry body for heavy construction materials in Australia since 2004, providing ongoing advice on a range of topics comprising planning environmental legislation throughout Queensland and liaison with the State Government in the development of legislation and policy.

Rod Huntley

Director and Principal – Resources

Rod has worked both locally and internationally as an engineer and geologist across a wider range of commodities. With significant experience in all facets of quarry design and development, geological resource estimation and geotechnical engineering, Rod holds a Bachelor of Science as well as Masters degrees in both Applied Science (Mining and Economic Geology Hons 2A) and Engineering Science. He is a competent person under the provisions of JORC 2004 for a range of commodities including Gold, Silver and Vanadium and assorted Industrial Minerals including Garnet, Staurolite, Feldspar, Limestone and assorted construction materials.
Rod also has experience in greenfield exploration ranging from regional resource assessment to detailed site investigations; quarry, mine and pit development planning and production; scheduling, provision of resources for specific projects; environmental impact assessments; development of environmental management plans; environmental monitoring, hydrology and water resource management and resource utilisation and development approvals, groundwater/surface water studies, acid sulphate soils, contaminated land and mineral tenure applications.

Clayton Hill

director and Principal - engineering, survey and mine/quarry operations

Clayton has over 15 years’ experience in the quarry industry in both the public and private sectors.

As a Principal of the business, Clayton provides industry relevant assistance to clients in Australia and overseas focusing on quarry optimisation, efficiency improvement, acquisition and divestment, market assessments, materials testing and operational advice. This advice guides clients in the creation and implementation of effective business strategies allowing for improved operational efficiencies, cost reductions and growth whilst reducing risk profiles.

Clayton’s knowledge and practical industry experience within the quarry industry both in operational and technical roles provides him with a unique set of skills to advise clients on a wide range of matters relating to the industry whilst providing a practical and commercial perspective to achieve the best possible outcome.

Clayton has been a member of the Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA) since 2003. Clayton is currently the National Deputy President of the IQA and is an active member of the Queensland Branch, having been a Past Chairman (2011-2014) and is currently a branch committee member.
