Have You Met Julie Day?

Julie Day

Receptionist/Administration Officer

1. How long have you been with Groundwork Plus?

I have been with Groundwork Plus for just over 18 months upon seeking a career change after 26 years within the Administration area of SA Police. I was a little worried how I was going to manage in a completely different field but have totally embraced the change and have found being out of Government very refreshing.

2. What is your role at Groundwork Plus, and what does it entail?

I am the receptionist / admin assistant in the SA office. I undertake a wide range of duties, including various admin tasks, ensuring the office runs smoothly and generally mothering the rest of the team, assisting them where ever I can. I also do a bit of event managing and am now regularly going out onsite to exchange dust bottles which I’m really enjoying.

3. What are your areas of particular interest or your proudest accomplishment?

I would have to say taking the huge step out of a long-term Government job into the unknown is probably my proudest accomplishment and for it to have worked out so well, improving my general happiness, well being and job satisfaction.

4. What is your favourite way to spend a weekend?

I love spending time with my family. Married to Mick and Mum of Tamika 31 and Jarrod 23 and a very proud Grandma of three gorgeous grandchildren, Imogen 11, Kobe 9 and Hudson 5, I spend as much time as I can with these guys and our dog Kosta. I also love sport, particularly AFL, following Hawthorn (sorry SA, not very patriotic I know), and enjoy watching my Son play local footy. I enjoy walking on the beach and generally being outdoors.
